Waiting for Lila | Maine Maternity Photographer

November 9th, 2010

I was so excited to finally meet  Sierra, Dane and her cute little bump in Maine this past weekend.  Sierra and I have been internet “friends” for the past year so I felt like I sort of already knew her and her cutie pie husband.  She is an amazing photographer whose work I have admired for some time (check her out here Sierra Kristen Photography), so when we started chatting back and forth a few months ago about doing some sessions with one another I was super excited, think GIDDY (my turn on the other side of the lens will be later this spring, stay tuned for that!).  I was also nervous because I had never shot another photographer before so I knew it would be a little bit of a different experience for both of us.  But the minute they stepped out of the car the nerves were gone, they were both sweet as can be and I really just started to feel like I had known them forever.  I knew it was going to be such a fun shoot. We had been worried about the weather (as many of you know Maine can be a bit unpredictable in November, or pretty much any other time of the year too, lol).   As we started we just hoped and prayed the rain would hold off….. and it did:)   It was on the chilly side (think forty degrees and super windy at times), but Sierra and Dane were total troopers and in it for the long haul (did I mention I now LOVE shooting other photographers????).  Not only were they so great… and fun…. but Sierra knew exactly how to pose herself and was a total natural on the other side of the camera (and so was Dane, he was so great you guys!).  I do have  to mention at times I felt like I was doing an engagement session because they are so in love, that new, fresh, crazy love you have for each other in the beginning (except that they have been married for years!).  They have that…. and more.  If you could see the way he looks at her, between shots when no one is paying attention, it absolutely melted my heart.  They have the kind of love people hope and pray for and with the new addition of their sweet baby girl this winter they are pretty much reaching perfect family status:)  Anyway, the moral of the story is I loved them, I loved this session, I pretty much want to move next door to them and become best friends, barbeque, watch the kids play out back, the whole nine yards:)  Dane and Sierra, thank you so much for entrusting me with capturing such a special time in your lives.  I hope you love your sneak peek……

Spooktacular | New Hampshire Family Photographer

November 1st, 2010

Well we had a great first Halloween in New Hampshire.  My mom came down for the weekend (and made Carys’ adorable costume out of an old prom dress!), we spent the day carving pumpkins, making Halloween cookies, and sipping on mulled cider.  It was such a fun day!  Although it felt freezing cold outside it did not stop tons and tons of trick or treater’s from hitting the streets of Concord.  I was SUPER impresssed with how big everyone does halloween here.  We trick or treated a few streets over from where we live and nearly every house was decorated top to bottom, playing spooky music, it was a blast. Carys had so much fun.  This is the first year that she actually gets it, and she loved it. We literally had to coax her back to the house or she would have stayed out all night I swear!  Anyway, here is our spooky little witch (she wore the same witch cape that I wore when I was three years old, also made by my mom, love you mom!!)………..

Almost Three | Concord New Hampshire Child Photographer

October 30th, 2010

Well today was “take two” of our attempt at Carys’ three year pics:)  Thankfully, it went better than “take one” (see post below).  Daddy was home to assist and help squeak out some laughs and smiles.  I am going to wait to post the rest on her birthday later this month, but I just had to share this one.  As soon as I snapped it I knew that I would love it.  It is her real deal happy time smile.  I could not love her any more………

My Toughest Client | Concord New Hampshire Family Photographer

October 25th, 2010

And she’s mine.  Seriously people, I don’t know what it is about our own kids (and I know almost every photographer I know sings this same song), they are the TOUGHEST to photograph.  None of my sweet tricks I have up my sleeve work with her.  Nothing.  We had candy, prizes, promises of trips to Toys R Us in her near future and I still could not get her to cooperate.  So, we’ll be attempting the tast of getting her three year shots done tomorrow.  Please wish me luck………… this was the best from the bunch today, doesn’t she look so excited for her photo shoot?

It’s A Love Story | Maine Wedding Photographer

October 11th, 2010

It meant so much for me to be able to photograph Stephen and Erin’s big day.  Our families go back, way back.  My mother and Erin’s parents have been best friends for over forty years.  Words really can’t describe how much The Cormier Family means to my mother and I, we truly consider them family.   So…. I wouldn’t have missed this day for anything:)  Stephen and Erin, I am so glad you each found your happily ever after in each other.  Here is a quick peek from your magical day…..
